Ans. Mrs. Jones was walking alone at 11 p.m.

Ans. When Mrs. Jones was walking alone, the boy tried to snatch her large purse.

Ans. The strap of the large purse broke with the single tug that the boy gave it from behind.

7. What did Mrs. Jones do when Roger fell down?

Ans. When Roger fell down Mrs. Jones kicked him at his blue-jeaned sitter.

Ans. Mrs. Jones met Roger at a corner of the street.

Ans. Mrs. Jones said this.

Roger was the reply.

Ans. The reason given by Roger for snatching the purse was  to buy a pair of blue suede shoes.

Ans. Mrs. Jones won’t turn Roger loose because he might be caught and beaten up by the two or three passers-by who stopped on the street.

Ans. Mrs. Jones provided Roger Lima beans,  ham, cocoa and half of the ten-cent cake as supper.
