Rashtriya Avishkar Saptah project

Do you think that the quantity of water for three categories of plants will vary with change in season? If yes, when will it increase or decrease?

Ans. Yes, I think the quantity of water for three categories of plants will vary with change in season. In summer, water evaporates faster and in this time soil and roots of trees need more water. But in winter the evaporation of water is slower than that in summer. In rainy season water requirement is very low.

Do you think wastage of water occurs while you water your plants? If yes, how?

Ans. No, I do not wastage of water occurs while I water my plants.

In which ways, wastage of water occurs when people water the plants?

Ans. I think morning session is best for watering a plant or tree. It is a wastage to water in afternoon when evaporation is faster. If we turn on the tap and using a hose pipe to water the plants I think wastage of water occurs. So we need to use hand sprinkler

Suggest ways to minimize the wastage of water while watering the plants.

Ans. Here are six ways to minimize our use of water in the garden:

1. Look after our soil.

2. Water at the right time. Many of us over-water our gardens.

3. Use the right amount of water.

4. Plant flowers that need less water.

5. Use the best watering techniques for your plants.

6. Collect rainwater and reuse old water.

Do you think excess amount of water was used while watering the plants?

Ans. If there is too much water or the soil is constantly wet, there are not enough air pockets. These results in a limited oxygen supply and plants are not able to breathe. When plants have too little water, leaves turn brown and wilt. This also occurs when plants have too much water. So we have to be careful about while watering the plants.

Suggestions to tackle scarcity of water in their region for irrigation of crops.

Ans. Rainwater harvesting and recycled wastewater also allows reducing scarcity and easing pressures on groundwater and other natural water bodies. Groundwater recharge, that allows water moving from surface water to groundwater, is a well-known process to prevent water scarcity.
