Voice Change

Voice Change

How do we get an Object of a verb: If we ask question to the verb of the sentence with ‘what’ and ‘whom’, we get an answer. The answer is the OBJECT to the verb.

Ram plays football in the field.
What does Ram play? = football
So football is the object to the verb play.

**Objects can be classified into three types: 1. Primary object, 2. Secondary object, and  3. Retained object.
Ram gives me a pen.
Here primary object is “a pen” (By asking the verb what? )
Secondary object is “me” (By asking the question whom?)
After changing the voice, I am given a pen by Ram,  We get retained object “a pen” as it is kept retained. So it is retained object.

Voice can be classified into three types :
 1.Active Voice, 2.Passive voice and 3.Quasi-passive

Present Indefinite:

Active = S + V1 + O
Passive= O + Be verb (am, is, are) + V3 + by + S

Ram plays football in the field.
Football is played in the field by Ram.

**If we get pronoun as a subject or object, we have to change the form according to the following box.
Subject
