a) Akbar asked Birbal a simple riddle what the fastest thing on this planet was.

b) Most of the people of the court of Akbar were puzzled to hear the riddle that was troubling Emperor Akbar.

c) When the neighbour realised that he was outwitted, he withdrew his claim immediately.

d) The human mind is the fastest thing on earth.

1. He could not find an answer to a simple riddle.

2. Emperor Akbar asked Birbal to solve a riddle.

2. Birbal solved the problem with a proof.

3. The neighbour argued that he had just sold him the well, not the water in it.

3. The neighbour wanted to charge money for drawing water from the well.

a) Ans. The things that the great Emperor Akbar loved were arts, sciences, literature and music.

b) Ans. Akbar did not have peace of mind because he could not find an answer to a simple riddle what the fastest thing in the planet was.

c) The problem presented by the man from the audience was that his neighbour wanted to charge him money for drawing water from the well despite being sold it to him.

d) Using his wisdom and power of human mind, Birbal solved the problem by saying the rent for keeping water in the well would equal the charge of drawing water.
